Youmacon Report

Most fun I had in a while, and a reason why Youmacon is still my favorite convention!

Arrived Thursday afternoon, dressed as Sheena. Unfortunately, the person who reserved the hotel had not arrived yet, so Dj, Shane, and I hung out in the lobby with other con goers, playing games, until it was time to get our badges. While waiting in line for our badges, every sang, and danced, and said hello to every person that passed by in the higher floors. XD Oh, and when Elli finally got the room, THE ROOM KEYS WERE EPIC! They had Youmacon stuff on them.

When we finally got our badges, dragged stuff to room, relaxed a little, and then I headed over to the Cosplay Slumber Party. SOO MUCH FUN. Painted a pumpkin, showed up for the cosplay contest, and made a gingerbread house. Or, more like a candy house... by the time I got there, there was only crumbs.

Friday, got the artist alley table and set up, and got into my Princess Mercury cosplay. Sadly, my nerves were rattled because I hadn't eaten yet, and it took me forever to set up. X_X I finally managed to do so. Made some sales, and then headed off to Maid Cafe. Oh, boy, was that fun! Met some really nice people, too, who I sat with. Oh, and I met the voice actor for Light, and the Nostalgia Critic. Also enjoyed some tasty, tasty strawberry cheese cake, and passion fruit tea.

Went back to artist alley for a little while, and then I headed to the Charity Ball. That was a hell of a lot of fun. (Almost) learned how to dance, ran around in a conga line, and I almost had a outfit malfunction. XD Everything with that got fixed, though.

Also, had one hell of a time finding my fiancee so I could get out of the dress. That was not fun. x_X

Saturday was another Sheena day, and I just spent most of the time in artist alley. I actually had three photoshoots to go to, but I only ended up going to the Tales one. Besides, having all three in a row? NOT COOL. Also bought a signed print from the Nostalgia Critic, as he spent some time in AA, too. XD

After I closed down my AA for the day, got ready for the rave... just to spend the entire time in the open gaming room playing apples to apples. XD So much fun. Oh, and we ordered tasty, tasty pizza, as well.

Sunday was a lazy day, and I was not ready to go home. I didn't dress up in cosplay, as I didn't feel like it. Got a ton of photos (as I forgot to the days before.) Also took that time to run around the dealers room, and I bought a couple of things. Also, at the end of the con, I made several art trades, as well.

All in all, another great convention, and I can't wait for next year, when it's in the Ren Center!


Greyling/Frakenmuth

Just got back from that this weekend. It was a ton of fun.

Thursday was mainly the drive up there... long drive at that... not to mention that halfway through, my bladder decided to be full. x_X I did fall asleep at the last hour, though.

Arrived at the cabin, lit a fire, and made some dinner before going to bed.

Then I woke up, several times throughout the night, because two people were still up. Joked around with them.

Friday, we spent the day chopping firewood, and stocking up on it, for both the wood burner and the fire pit. After we were done with that, the entire house decided it was nap time. Dinner then rolled around, we started the fire pit, and made campfire pizzas. Sat around and talked a bunch.

Saturday was one of the big days. Went shopping for things we forgot, and then we got Taco bell and went to the tank. We then proceed to climb the tank and eat tacos on it. How many people do you know can say that. XD We then went to the Au Sable river. First stop, before we got to it, we saw a flock of wild turkeys. And then there was the crazy road. @_@ We stayed there for a little while, and I got a few pictures, before we headed to Rainbow Bend.

We get to Rainbow Bend, and we all decide to jump in the river for a little bit. XD OH GOD IT WAS SO COLD. Brian decided he was going to stay in the river, to bead DJ's time, as my fiance stayed in the longest. XD

Afterwards, we climbed the hill, took tones of pictures, and then all ran back down. I actually slid down, most of the way, as I am FAR from graceful. Went back to the cabin, lit a fire, made food. While I was cooking sausages, we saw a young doe no more than thirty yards from us. It was wonderful!

Sunday, we cleaned up, packed, and left the cabin, but not before a big breakfast! We hit up a small park, were we got to feed deer, and then we went to the shoe tree, where a couple of us proceeded to throw shoes into it. After that, we hit up the Jerky Outlet, and I got some venison Jerky, before heading to Frankenmuth.

It's been so long since I had been there. Hit up the Barvarian in first, and then a candy shop, where my fiance and I nearly spent 15$ on candy. XD Afterwards, it was the fudge shop, and the Cheese Haus, then the leather factory, and then the arcade that is by the house of mirrors. Afterwards, we all headed to Tony's, which, by the way, has the best deals!

Great weekend! Hopefully, we get to go back sometime soon (and DJ and I will have more money for Frakenmuth.)

Now that I'm home, though, must work on kiriban's, and ATCOE's. Hopefully I will have that all up soon!
